Gerry Karsay
Gerry’s love of water became apparent at an early age. Infant swim lessons and growing up around water instilled a passion for swimming that led to over 12 years of competitive swimming and water polo.
Gerry began her swim instruction career after gaining Austswim Swim Teaching and ASCTA Swim Coaching accreditations, and in 1999 established Who Dares Swims in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.
Whilst building her own Swim School, Gerry also consulted to Cook and Phillip Aquatic Centre and was integral in the development of what became, Sydney’s premier baby class program. Their Learn To Swim and Squad Programmes were also developed under her guidance. At this time Gerry had the pleasure of working closely with internationally recognised swimming legends such as John Konrads, Shane Gould and Milton Nelms.
Although having coached numerous competitive children, adult and triathlete squads, her focus now lays with Learn To Swim. With an unparalleled “hands on” method of teaching, attention to detail is the focal point. Gerry has steadily built the reputation of a professional yet personable Swim School that has proudly been operational solely on word of mouth and referrals.
Our Instructors
The vital contributing factor to achieving overall learning outcomes is personable, friendly and professional instruction. All our instructors are highly experienced and dedicated, each understanding the importance of continuity and consistency in a childs learning path.
All our instructors undergo extensive in-house training to ensure unified teaching at all levels. Gerry works closely with each instructor to ensure on-going training and development of programs. This supplements their national Austswim and Swim Australia accreditations. Some instructors hold specialised accreditations in baby/infant swimming & disability swimming. All our instructors have resuscitation qualifications.
