“Our customers say that we’ve given them the best children’s swimming classes in the Eastern Suburbs.”
Every child needs to learn to swim. Give your child a head start by attending Who Dares Swims Swim School. Gerry has an unparalleled, hands on approach which young children need. Gerry will help your child develop great technique which makes them more confident in the water and is also a solid foundation for those wishing to pursue swimming seriously in the future.
I had the pleasure of starting Gerry’s swim school when my son was just 6 months old. Oska and India continued to swim at Who Dares Swims for the next 10 years!!
We couldn’t be happier with our children’s swim technique it really is Gerry’s differentiator to other swim schools. Oska is now a competitive swimmer that looks as if he’s gliding without effort. Thanks Gerry for being such a big positive input on our children’s lives!
We moved to Who Dares Swims from another swim school when our children were 18mths, 2 ½ and 4 years in age. We were immediately impressed by Gerry’s small classes and her ability to teach the children while making the whole process fun. Our children always ran to class and improved incredibly quickly.
They finished their lessons in year 5 to move to squad training and their coach always commented on their beautiful stroke form.
We have recommended Who Dares Swims to many of our friends and they have all been extremely happy too
Both of our boys spent several years attending Gerry’s amazing swim school. They had previously attended another well know venue where it transpired that they were being taught to merely float as opposed to swim. Hence, they arrived at Gerry’s with many bad ingrained habits that needed to be unwound. However, there is no challenge beyond Gerry’s reach and soon our ‘little bricks’ had been transformed into ‘graceful dolphins’ and have both gone onto being Rep swimmers. More importantly, they have retained their love of the water and always talk fondly of their days at the legendary
Both my daughters Lili (15) and Jessica Edser (13) started swimming with Gerry when they were young toddlers. Gerry always made sure that they progressed only after they had perfected each stroke technically and with this strength behind them began to excel at swimming.
Both girls are state qualified swimmers. Jessica represented NSW at school sports australia national championships at the age of 10 and 12 winning a silver medal and has always been complemented by her squad coaches in her ability to remain streamlined and technical in her backstroke. Jess has held state records for backstroke since she was 10. Lili was a top 6 state age breaststroker and at 13 moved on to play Waterpolo and represented NSW at the recent Pan Pacs in New Zealand in 2014.
We attribute the girls swimming and aquatic success to the foundations that were learnt under the guidance of Gerry and her team at Who Dares Swims
Our daughter Sammy started swimming at the ripe old age of 9 months when Gerry set up & ran the baby classes at Cook and Phillip Park. That was over 14 years ago now. When Gerry set up her own swim school we followed her as did many of the mums, dads and bubs. Sammy and her younger brother Matty both swam with Gerry until they were 8. To this day many people comment on the strong and neat swimming stroke both the kids have which is a direct reflection of the technique and skill of not only Gerry but all the instructors that guided them over the years.
I cannot stress enough how much an early (pre one year old) swim program has benefited us all as a family. Living by the beach and having a swimming pool can be stressful at times when kids are young however, the water awareness instruction they received as babies gave us the peace of mind that we had done everything possible to ensure their safety.
We have recommended Who Dares Swims to many friends over the years and all have been very happy with the results
We have been attending swimming lessons with Gerry, Who Dares Swims, for the last 10 years and with our 6yo Twins still in the program we will probably be going for another 4-5 years! We also spent 4 years living abroad yet even during that time on return trips we had the kids take additional lessons with Gerry. Whilst overseas my eldest now 13 was complimented so often on her stroke, and this is all because of Gerry!
Gerry loves what she does, she shows genuine interest in the kids and the kids in turn adore her. She is very disciplined, very focused on water safety and providing good swimming technics. You see instant results! Her staff are as good as she is and this is because Gerry is always there watching making sure they do it the ‘Gerry Way’!
We were introduced to Who Dares Swims by a family friend and have never looked back. Thank you Gerry!
Our daughter Lauren is now 11 and swims in a squad at Cook & Phillip twice a week. Her current swim coach says she has great technique which we attribute to all her early years of swimming lessons with Gerry and Who Dares Swims.
Our son Riley is now 6 and he is progressing quickly with Gerry and really enjoys swimming. We would recommend Who Dares Swims to anyone looking for a great swim school for their kids
Gerry has been teaching my daughter Madi who is 14 years old and Autistic. Madi was initially very reluctant to attend swimming lessons and I am grateful that Gerry could adapt her teaching style to suit Madi’s needs and help improve her swim safety.
Gerry tailors the lessons to be mindful of Madi’s emotional state which can vary from week to week. She is in tune with Madi and has found a way to push past her reluctance without being too firm and losing Madi’s engagement. She is respectful of Madi’s difficulties with loud noises and physical touch and is able to break instructions down and concentrate on specific areas that lead to overall strength, style and cardio endurance.
We are so pleased with Madi’s improvements and grateful that Gerry could help to teach her water safety and build her physicality” – Lauren.R
“I’ve been so impressed by the way Gerry has helped my daughter (aged 4)get used to being in the water and made it a calm and enjoyable activity for her. Even the process of getting in the pool can be very overwhelming for children who don’t enjoy the sensory experience of putting their head under the water or kicking and splashing. Gerry has been so patient and reassuring with my daughter as she overcomes her fears, and every week I see her grow in confidence, she is now excited for her lessons and she is learning proper technique. It is wonderful to see and I highly recommend Gerry’s specialist skills, her sensitive approach to children who are anxious, together with her positive and supportive attitude. I am so delighted with the progress my daughter is making” -Helen M
